Canadian Mennonite University is looking for a Conference Research Assistant to support the planning and execution of the conference taking place at Canadian Mennonite University from October 22 –24, 2026. The Conference Research Assistant will work under the direction of the CMU Learning & Research Hub Coordinator as part of the CMU research team for the LINCZ project (Locally Led Indigenous Nature-based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation in Zimbabwe).
This position is primarily hybrid-remote apart from in-person planning meetings (generally held on campus). The Conference Research Assistant must also be available for the full duration of the conference, including daytime and evening hours (Thursday through Saturday, October 22-24, 2026), as well as widely available the week before and the week after the conference.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Planning & Meeting Support
• Assisting with planning committee meetings; taking and distributing minutes.
• Maintaining tasks lists, proactively tracking action items and flagging upcoming deadlines.
• Supporting the Learning & Research Hub Coordinator with ad hoc duties: e.g., printing, organizing conference supplies, preparing name tags.
• Liaising between the Learning & Research Hub Coordinator, the LINCZ team, and the planning committee to ensure smooth information flow.
• Planning and prioritising independent work schedule within defined parameters.
• Responding to emails and similar communication requests in a timely manner.
Participant Support
• Assisting with drafting pre-conference communications: e.g., registration instructions, reminders, schedule changes, welcome emails.
• Managing participant lists, keeping track of special requests, and tracking confirmations and session attendance.
• Assisting international participants with logistical support as needed: e.g., arranging transportation, accommodation, managing special requests.
• Coordinating social events and orientation sessions tailored to international guests.
• Preparing welcome packages and acting as a friendly point of contact for participants who may need extra help navigating the local area.
• Assisting with scheduling campus visits, guest lectures, or individual meetings for international participants.
On-Site Conference Support
• Serving as a floater during the conference and troubleshooting last-minute issues.
• Assisting with set up and take down of registration areas, session rooms, and catering spaces.
• Running errands as needed during live sessions.
• Proactively identifying gaps in planning: e.g., missing session materials, lack of signage, unmet dietary needs, and suggest or implement solutions.
• Light tech support, as needed: e.g., helping speakers load presentations.
• Assisting with post-conference wrap-up tasks: e.g., drafting and collecting feedback forms, returning lost items.
• Supporting participants with basic language assistance or making connections with translation services if needed.
Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Available in-person for the full duration of the conference.
• Familiarity with CMU's mission, campus layout, and community culture.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly and respond flexibly to shifting programmatic needs.
• A proactive approach and problem-solving mentality.
• Prior work or volunteer experience in conference planning and execution is an asset.
• French language skills (written and verbal) are an asset.

The Elite Initiatives Director is responsible for leading AIA nationally and through serving as part of the National Leadership Team to help people know Jesus and experience his power to change the world through sport. This person is also responsible for the effective leadership and management of the elite initiatives domain. This includes fulfillment and accountability of the ministry plan through OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), oversight of finances (budget, fundraising), visioning for the future, and expanding the current influence of their domain. Specifically, the Elite Initiatives Director will look to increase the influence and impact of chaplaincy within the elite athletic community in Canada. There are many leagues and other opportunities to expand chaplaincy and this leader will envision and work out a plan to step into these areas. Their mandate is also to continue, alter, or transition the current impact our chaplains have in various sport leagues and with national athletes.

The Meeting Place is looking for an Elementary Programmer to join our Family Ministries Team!
Term Details
This is a part-time (20 hours/week) term position covering a 15-month maternity leave. This position offers flexible hours, but requires availability on Sunday mornings, Tuesday, and occasional evenings for meetings or events.
About The Meeting Place
We are a Mennonite Brethren church in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. Our mission is to be a biblically functioning community, leading people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Role Summary
The Elementary Programmer will lead and provide spiritual care for students in grades 1-4 and report to our Family Director. Their primary role will be to lead a weekly program on
Sunday mornings in our elementary environment called "Studio B."
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and execute weekly programming that utilizes our curriculum.
• Equip, empower, and encourage volunteer teams, including Teachers, Small Group Leaders, Support Leaders, and Tech Team members.
• Schedule and communicate with volunteer teams on a weekly basis.
• Provide regular, timely, and professional communication to parents of children in our TMP Kids environments.
• Ensure that our MBCM Safe Place Policy is adhered to. This involves tracking attendance, maintaining appropriate adult-child ratios, and administering volunteer applications.
• Maintain regular meetings with the Family Director to receive spiritual care.
• Attend all staff meetings, staff retreats, and staff events.
Required Qualifications
• Experience working with children or youth
• Personal commitment to the CCMBC Confession of Faith
• Personal adherence to the CCMBC Code of Christian Conduct
• Completion of a criminal record and vulnerable sector check
• Comfort speaking and presenting to groups of children
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication

PROJECT/JOB DESCRIPTION: The Living Prairie Museum is a 12 ha tall-grass prairie preserve with an interpretive centre. The preserve serves as a living museum and offers an opportunity to experience rare habitat in an urban area. The preserve area, native seed production site, and interpretive centre are maintained regularly. Interpretive programming and events occur on-site throughout the summer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the removal of invasive plants to protect endangered habitat
- Assist in maintaining a seed production site, including plant propagation, weeding, and seed collection
- Engage in management activities that may include sheep grazing, tree removal, or habitat restoration
- Maintain walking trails
- Assist with special event promotion and delivery, and interpretive programs when required
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be 15-29 years of age to qualify
Enrollment in post-secondary education with specialization in Environmental Studies/Science, Biology, Ecology, Indigenous Studies, Horticulture or related field is an asset and may be required by funding

Job Description
We are a family looking to hire a part-time evening support worker for our family member. If you are currently exploring Education, Social Work or Psychology as a career path, this opportunity will be an excellent fit. This position is for evening hours typically 6 to 9pm, two to three times a week, Monday to Thursday.
The person you would be supporting is a male in his late twenties with autism, epilepsy and a developmental disability. With the assistance of a full-time support worker who comes to our home, and involved family members, he currently has a varied and active schedule from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. He enjoys cooking and baking, working out, yoga, reading, computer games/puzzles, swimming, watching YouTube, tobogganing, shopping, attending Goldeye and Moose games, and listening to music.
The main focus of this position is to be a companion for evening leisure activities to complement his existing schedule. Examples of outings include going to movies, museums, the planetarium, sporting events, shopping, the Zoo and the Leaf. This position will ideally eventually include assistance with personal care and hygiene activities at home – the evening bath and bed routine.
The ideal person for this role is someone who is compassionate and patient, who enjoys walking and being outdoors, and who is eager to contribute to a fun and enriched life for our family member.
Assets include holding a valid driver's license, being tech savvy and being very comfortable around water and swimming.
Location is in the southwest corner of Winnipeg.
Paid training with the current support worker will ideally occur during the day Monday to Friday, so having some daytime flexibility would be an asset.

Pay
Training wage is $19.00/hour.

Expected Hours
We are open to establishing a schedule that is flexible week to week as long as at least two evenings are covered. Hours may occasionally be expanded depending on the evening's activities.

Athletes in Action is offering a unique opportunity to do a joint internship with our Youth and Campus ministries.
