At CMU, we believe that our best learning happens within community. We have intentionally created a residence program that enables students to thrive by freeing up time and energy to focus on their academics, make close connections with friends, attend a diverse range of events, and find ways to live out the things that they are learning in the classroom.
We're passionate about creating an environment where each student can belong, know they're safe, and feel supported. Everyone needs someone to talk to or a point in the right direction at some point and student leaders are equipped to lend a hand when students need it. Residence Assistants (RAs) live in each of the residence buildings and are trained to support students in a variety of ways.
The Residence Director (RD) provides oversight to the Residence Life program and works collaboratively with the Senior Residence Assistant (SRA) to mentor the RAs. Residence Life is an integral part of the Student Life programming at CMU and members of the Student Life staff are excited to support students however we can.
