Social services are key instruments for achieving greater inclusion, participation, self-determination, care, justice, and advocacy for and among people and communities. Concentrated study in this area provides students insight into the effective delivery of services, the challenges associated with working for social change, and the theoretical foundations that inform social service provision.
Students who concentrate in social service will acquire knowledge and skills required for future work and service in a range of public and non-profit human service and social welfare organizations, and gain analytical capabilities on justice and peace-oriented approaches to social services.
