The CMU BSc is distinctive in its inclusion of a broad interdisciplinary base, helping students to see the beauty and complexity of the world from various perspectives within science, biblical and theological studies, humanities, and social sciences. The Bachelor of Science has the following degree options:
Mathematics is the language of our technological world. It lies at the heart of scientific research, engineering, and computer science. A math degree can prepare students for a careers in science, industry, business, teaching, and more. But the study of mathematics will also assist students in developing skills beneficial for inquiry in any other disciplinary field, for example theology, philosophy, music, or psychology. Students learn to be precise and organized, to solve problems creatively, and to reason analytically.
At CMU, a Christian worldview provides perspective on mathematical studies, and students are invited to bring their own convictions and beliefs to their studies. We consider limitations and ethical applications of mathematics, how math can inspire awe of creation, and how math has shaped worldviews.
