Culture shapes identity and meaning; it is what fuels social continuity and change. The whole of our social experience—including ideas, creative expression, relationships, and institutions—constitutes the substance of culture. With an Intercultural Studies concentration, you will explore what happens when people or elements of different cultures meet, collide or conflict. In a world of travel, immigration, and globalization, Intercultural Studies is taking on increased significance and importance.

An Intercultural studies concentration provides an interdisciplinary approach where you can engage critically and enhance your skills across the social sciences. Studies increase intercultural competencies and sensitivities by asking critical questions about relevant issues and dynamics in the world.
