Students are the heart of CMU. Over the past quarter century, our alumni have shaped industries, inspired communities, and redefined what it means to lead with purpose. In celebration of 25 years, we have profiled one remarkable graduate from each year—25 years, 25 stories.
Who are CMU alumni?
Given CMU's unique history, it's understandable that this question arises! The answer is simple.
An alumnus is any person who has completed a minimum of 18 credit hours at MBBC/Concord, CMBC, or CMU through the Shaftesbury undergraduate or graduate programs, or the Outtatown Discipleship School.

CMU alumna carries family tradition into a new generation
Kaylene Blackwood (CMU '26) started playing the steel drums when she was five years old. There's video footage of her as a child performing in the Caribbean pavilion at Folklorama, Winnipeg's annual multicultural festival that celebrates diverse cultures through pavilions featuring food, live entertainment, and cultural exhibits.

Mini CMU Summer Day Camps
Mini CMU is a summer day program for children ages 6–12, hosted by CMU. Through hands-on learning, creative exploration, and active play, Mini CMU offers kids a place where they feel welcomed, supported, and excited to learn.
